How do I know if my carpet needs a professional clean?
It all depends on the kind of household you have. Most carpet manufacturers suggest a professional clean at least one time per year. If you have a family of five with pets, your household has a large amount of traffic and would need cleaned more often.
What can I do to prepare for the best possible carpet clean?
Precision suggests the following: Move any large furniture to a place where it can stay until the carpet is completely dry, vacumm the carpet thoroughly, schedule for a time when less people are at the residence, take suggestions from the technician into consideration.
Does Precision move my furniture?
Precision does not move any large furniture (I.E. beds, dressers, entertainment centers.) We work closely but safely around them. We do move around small things, and clean under some couches, chairs, and love seats so long as they will not damage the damp carpet.
How long before we can walk on the carpet?
You can walk on the carpet immediately but staying off the carpet provides the best result. Our truck mounted machines apply 200+ degree steam at 400-500 PSI and use 500 lbs. of vacuum to extract around 95% of the moisture. Air conditioner, ceiling fans, etc. all speed up the drying process, but expect around 6-8 hours depending on the carpet.
